Description

At the moment text translation requires knowledge of the Pustefix markup. Big projects require that translation can be done independently of the markup by translators or translation systems.

Therefor Pustefix has to support the editing of text separated from the markup. It must be possible to detect all pages of an application, including all text fragments, statuscodes, Javascript resources, etc. It has to support translation memory systems and should support other tools, which help to improve the text quality.

separating text from markup is already possible by outsourcing and organizing text parts in own files. There also exist alternative approaches: Pustefix extensions which outsource text into property files. Perhaps we could improve the support for such alternative approaches.
